Welcome to a 36-Day Study of the Book of Colossians

Welcome to a 36-day study of the book of Colossians. In this book, Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, reminds the church that Christ alone is the head of the body of believers—the Church. We are to give no regard to false doctrines that drift us away from our identity in Christ.

Christ is the image of God and is supreme over all creation. He existed before everything, and through Him God created the entire universe, including principalities and powers. Paul urges every believer to revere Christ alone as the Head, our spiritual identity, our fullness, and the source of our spiritual life in whom we live and have our being.

So tighten your seat belt and get set for a jolly ride down the avenue of God's Word. It's a 36-day journey—an exploration of "God's Supremacy in Christ." Welcome aboard!

How to Use This Bible Reading Plan

  1. 1. Use a Bible! Preferably a version that you can easily understand. We suggest the NKJV, NLT, or The Amplified Version.
  2. 2. Read the passages to UNDERSTAND, not just to FIND ANSWERS to the questions asked.
  3. 3. Read the cross-references to help you better understand the main text for the day.
  4. 4. You may wish to get a notebook to write down your questions, thoughts, observations, and answers.
  5. 5. Try to be consistent in your reading, but you may spend more than 36 days if necessary.
  6. 6. Prayerfully read the Scriptures—ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding of God's Word.
  7. 7. Note: cf. means "compare."
