WELCOME TO THE BOOK OF JOHN!
We thought it wise to advise you to get started on regular course from the Word of God.
You see, when we accept Jesus Christ, the Bible says that we actually become born-again i.e. a spiritual life is born in us (John 3:3-6).
Now every child that is born requires proper feeding in order to grow healthy and strong, particularly breast milk.
Well, the Word of God is just that spiritual food we need for our Christian growth (See l Peter 2.2-3).
To help you get started, we have devised a plan to guide you through the book of John.
Why John? Well, read the full meaning: “The Gospel according to John”. The word gospel means ‘good news’.
Now, this good news is about God’s love for you which He demonstrated by sending Jesus to die on your behalf. He died in your place so that you may have life through faith in Him.
John sets his focus on the person of Jesus Christ. Near the end of his book, he says that it was impossible for him to have written everything about Jesus. But what he has written has just this one purpose: “...that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him you will have life” (John 20:31, NLT)
As you read through, we pray that the Holy Spirit will grant you insight to personally encounter Him on whom our faith depends – Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.
How To Use The Bible Reading Plan.
1. Get a Bible and find the book of John. (It’s the fourth [4th] book in the New
Testament).
2. Get a notebook in which you will write down daily what you understand from each
reading.
3. It would be good to start with a prayer, asking God to open your eyes to the truth of His Word.
4. After each day’s reading, if you have questions or comments do not hesitate to send these to us.
5. In case you are unable to finish a particular day’s reading, feel free to complete it the next day. The important thing is to learn something daily from the Word of God. (This plan is only a guide)
6. We will love to know how the reading plan has helped you and will also want to know when you have finished the study. Please ensure that you get us informed so that we know what to send next.
