Welcome back to school

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

On behalf of all of us at Pens For Christ (PFC), I’d like to say ‘happy resumption from your long break’. We hope you had a good time and did a lot of fun things? We also hope that you got well rested too? Are you excited to be back in school or are you back just because daddy and mommy said so?

You know having the right perspective about schooling can help you to enjoy it and even get the best out of it. Let’s start by reminding you that God created you for a purpose and has good plans for your life. When He created you, He had specific thoughts in mind. See what God said in His Word:‘For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

Yes, God who created you has specific plans and purpose for you. David must have realized this when he wrote these lines: ‘You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit them together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous-and how well I know it. You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion! You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!’ (Psalms 139:13-16, TLB)

And guess what, when you believe in Jesus, you become specially refashioned to do the good works that God has always had in mind for you to do. ‘We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!’ (Ephesians 2:10, TPT)

Wow, did you see all that? Yes, God has a plan for you; He has in mind who He created you to be as well as what to do.

Schooling offers you a unique opportunity to prepare and equip yourself to be all that God wants you to be. This does not mean that people who do not go to school cannot be what God wants them to be, but your education is a training ground that empowers you to fulfill God’s purpose for your life.

Having this in mind, we will like to encourage you to devote good attention to your studies; work hard to be your best and excel in what you do. Should you have any questions, difficulties or challenges, do not hesitate to ask us. Remember, we are your brothers and sisters in Christ.

We are also committed to helping you continually help you to grow in your relationship with God, our Father. If you have not yet replied our last letter/article to you, please endeavour to do so this week and give to your chaplain who will give to us. If you have misplaced it, also let us know. Please fill the form attached to this letter.

As we round up we leave you with these words of Scriptures to stir you to excellence in your academics:

‘Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.’ (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV)

‘Do you know a hard-working man? He shall be successful and stand before kings!’ (Proverbs 22:29, TLB)

‘Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.’ (1 Timothy 4:15; NIV)
