WELCOME TO 2017

A New Year message from Pens For Christ (PFC)

From us here at PFC, we wish you a prosperous year! 

Aside the merriment and festivity of the season, we know you are grateful for life. The achievements of the past year are replaced with desires for greater strides. The failures, pains and regrets of the year gone by are replaced with hope for new and better opportunities. Expectations are high, commitments are renewed and yes, there is no other time of the year when prayers and fasting are embarked on like the beginning of the New Year.

Who else would man turn to except God? 

This was exactly what Abraham's servant did as he set out on an endeavor to get Abraham's son, Isaac a wife : "He prayed, “O God , God of my master Abraham, make things go smoothly this day; treat my master Abraham well! As I stand here by the spring while the young women of the town come out to get water, let the girl to whom I say, ‘Lower your jug and give me a drink,’ and who answers, ‘Drink, and let me also water your camels’—let her be the woman you have picked out for your servant Isaac. Then I’ll know that you’re working graciously behind the scenes for my master’.  (Genesis 24:12-‬14, The Message; Emphasis ours)

We know your desire is to experience 2017 knowing that God Is working graciously behind the scenes for you, surrounding you with favour as with a shield, satisfying you with the goodness of His storehouse, ordering your steps and making your dreams come true. 

Abraham's servant had his prayers answered that he said: "God has worked everything out so well”.  See Genesis 24:56 (The Message)

God is not a novice at making things work so well; His specialty is in working graciously behind the scenes. He is perfect in arranging things; He thinks things through and orchestrates events. Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) reads 'For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord , ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope'.

 He loves to be in charge, making things work. That is why maintaining a relationship with Him can only be sustained by letting Him arrange it while all you have to do is to embrace what He has arranged. 

‘The person who lives in right relationship with God does it by embracing what God arranges for him. Doing things for God is the opposite of entering into what God does for you. Habakkuk had it right: “The person who believes God, is set right by God—and that’s the real life.” Rule-keeping does not naturally evolve into living by faith, but only perpetuates itself in more and more rule-keeping, a fact observed in Scripture: “The one who does these things [rule-keeping] continues to live by them.’ (Galatians 3:11b-‬12, The Message; Emphasis ours)‬

We don’t struggle or pay to be in relationship with God or to be pleasing to Him. God took it upon himself to reconcile us back to the Himself through Christ.

"God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:18a, GOD’S WORD Translation).  So you see "God saved you through faith as an act of kindness. You had nothing to do with it. Being saved is a gift from God. It’s not the result of anything you’ve done, so no one can brag about it. God has made us what we are. He has created us in Christ Jesus to live lives filled with good works that he has prepared for us to do". (Ephesians 2:8‭-‬10, GOD’S WORD Translation) 

All that is left for you to do is to embrace all that He has done through faith.
