New year Letter 2008

New year Letter 2008

1st January, 2008

Hi,

It’s another year. Thank God for sparing our lives. How was the just concluded year and how was Christmas period? Hope you had a lot of fun as the season is usually filled with so much merriment. Above all, we hope you were able to reflect on all that God did for us by sending Christ into the world. This, of course, is what we remember at Christmas period.

Have you ever been to a birthday where the celebrant was absent? Or imagine that your birthday was organized for you by your parents. Your friends and cousins were all around. People had a nice time, ate all sorts of food and left. Somehow, they didn’t seem to come because of you; neither were you the centre of importance. They simply came for themselves. Guess you would be quite happy, right? Most unlikely! You would probably feel unloved by them and unimportant too. They came just for your food and not for you.

Well Christmas is the period that we Christians remember and reflect on the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The merriment is not complete if He is not the centre of attention. This is true not only at Christmas, but throughout our entire lives. The Bible declares: ‘Through Him(Jesus)all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men’ (John1:3-4,NIV)

Our life is a gift from God and we do not have real life if we have never received Jesus into our lives. God sent Him in order to reconcile the world to Himself. Jesus Himself said:“No one comes to the Father except through me” (John14:6,NIV). He died to pay the price four our sins. We believe that you have, at one point or the other, asked Jesus to come into your life- receiving His gift of life and salvation. If you have, you one assured of eternal life. If not, please do so today. Christ is more than willing to receive you (John 6:37).

As we go through this New Year, we trust that your walk with God will be strengthened. We also hope that you will do well to send your replies to our articles if you have not done so in a while. Our aim is to see your walk with God strengthened and to help you in whatever challenges you may be facing. However, we cannot continue to send write-ups to you if we do not receive any response from you since we are not even sure if you are receiving our mails. So please endeavour to contact us, let us know how you are doing as well as the last article you received from us. If you reply just once and give us your name and address, we will send stamped envelopes to you so that you can reach us at minimal cost to you.

It is also our desire to identify with you on your birthday this year and beyond. To this end, please let us know your birthday as soon as possible.  Also let us know if you are still interested in receiving our write-ups.

As usual, you can post a letter to us; send us an e-mail, a text message or give us a call. Our contacts are available below. We eagerly look forward to hearing from you.

With lots of love,

Babatunde, Adewole
